Discover Vietnam

a country of rich diverse beauty and cultural contrasts
Vietnam spans several climatic zones, resulting in substantial weather condition variations between the north and the south. Average temperatures year round range from 20 to 35 degrees celsius so there is no particularly good or bad time to visit Vietnam.

Hanoi
the capital city is located in the North of Vietnam where the visitor can enjoy a temperate climate.
This area has four distinct seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. These happen at the same times as Northern Hemisphere and European seasons, but Hanoi winters are milder and more pleasant than those of Northern Europe and a trip up into the cooler hills can provide a refreshing change if you are visiting us during the European summer. For our Southern Hemisphere visitors the climate in Hanoi and the northern half of Vietnam is very comparable to that of Brisbane in Australia, only at the opposite time of the year.

Coastal Vietnam

and those parts of the central highlands that face north east receive maximum rainfall between September and January. This is also a time of much cloud and frequent drizzle known by the local people as (crachin).

Central Vietnam

is usually warm and dry from May to October. The higher tablelands with plateaus rising up to 1500 metres above sea level are noticeably cooler than the lower areas, and have a higher rainfall all year round.

Southern Vietnam

is similar to the northern parts of Australia where tropical conditions prevail.
There are two seasons, the wet season which lasts from May to November and the dry season from December to April. The wet is characterised by high humidity levels and a refreshing afternoon downpour. The hottest months are from March to May.

Let us know your ideas about the things you would like to see and do and the length of time you plan to visit and we will get back to you with suggestions that will enable you to get the best out of your trip.

The tour of discovering the outskirts of Dalat City has been created to meet tourists' special demand of discovering the new, less known places in the countryside of Dalat.

This tour is a part of the most popular tours of "Dalat city 1 Day" and "Dalat for 4 Days and 3 Nights" by the tourism agency of "Mr Happy Dalat".

Vietnam’s premier hill station, Dalat, sits tucked into the mountain folds of the Lang Bian Plateau at an altitude of around 1500m. A beguiling amalgam of winding streets, picturesque churches, bounteous vegetable gardens and crashing waterfalls, this quaint colonial curio is a great place to chill out, literally and metaphorically; if its cool air gets you in the mood for action, you could try trekking to minority villages, mountain-biking and rock-climbing.

By tacit agreement during the American War, both Hanoi and Saigon refrained from bombing the city and it remains much as it was half a century ago. However, it’s important to come to Da Lat with no illusions. With a population of around 200,000, the city is anything but an idyllic backwater: sighting its forlorn architecture for the first time in the 1950s, Norman Lewis found the place “a drab little resort”, and today its colonial relics and pagodas stand cheek by jowl with some of the dingiest examples of East European construction anywhere in Vietnam. Moreover, attractions here pander to the domestic tourist’s predilection for swan-shaped pedal-boats and pony-trek guides in full cowboy gear, while at night the city can be as bleak as an off-season ski resort.

Central travel to dalat forms a rough crescent around the western side of man-made Lake Xuan Huong, created in 1919 when the Cam Ly River was dammed by the French, who named it the “Grand Lac”. The city escaped bomb damage, and a French influence is still evident in its central area, whose twisting streets and steps, lined with stone buildings rising to red-tiled roofs, cover a hillock located between the streets of Bui Thi Xuan and Phan Dinh Phung.

Hanoi, also spelled Ha Noi,

The city is situated in northern Vietnam hanoi on the western bank of the Red River, about 85 miles (140 km) inland from the South China Sea. In addition to being the national capital, Hanoi is also a province-level municipality (thanh pho), administered by the central government. Area mun., 1,205 square miles (3,120 square km). Pop. (1999) city, 1,523,936; mun., 5,053,654; (2009) city, 2,316,722; mun., 6,451,909.

History

The region around present-day Hanoi was settled in prehistoric times, and the location was often chosen as a political centre by Chinese conquerors. In 1010 Ly Thai To, the first ruler of the Ly dynasty (1009–1225) of Vietnam, chose the site of Hanoi—then called Thang Long (“Rising Dragon”)—for his capital. Thang Long remained the main capital of Vietnam until 1802, when the last Vietnamese dynasty, the Nguyen (1802–1945), transferred the capital south to Hue. The city occasionally was renamed for periods of time, and one of these names, Dong Kinh, given to it during the Later Le dynasty (1428–1787), became corrupted by Europeans to Tonquin. During the French colonial period (1883–1945) the name Tonkinwas used to refer to the entire region. In 1831 the city was renamed Ha Noi (“Between Two Rivers”) by the Nguyen dynasty.

Under French rule, Hanoi again became an important administrative centre. In 1902 it was made the capital of French Indochina. This was largely because of Tonkin’s proximity to southern China, where the French sought to expand their influence, and because of Tonkin’s mineral resources. Hanoi remained the administrative centre during the Japanese occupation (1940–45) of the territory.

In August 1945, following the Japanese surrender, the Viet Minh under the leadership of Ho Chi Minh seized power in Hanoi, and the city was established as the capital of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. The French, however, reasserted their control over Hanoi from 1946 until their defeat at Dien Bien Phu on May 7, 1954. Shortly thereafter Hanoi became the capital of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam).

During the Vietnam War, the bombing of Hanoi by the United States in 1965, 1968, and 1972 caused massive damage. Following the collapse of South Vietnam on April 30, 1975, North Vietnam extended its control over all of Vietnam. On July 2, 1976, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam was proclaimed, and Hanoi was established as its capital. The city observed its 1,000th anniversary in early October 2010 by staging a number of events that culminated with a massive parade on October 10.  Hanoi is  the best things to do in vietnam
